We got him a new toy from Petsmart while we were out last week, and he enjoys that sometimes. It’s cute to watch him when he does play with it, because he just stops the ball with his paw, and then pushes it to go again. He also likes to lie by it and push the ball lazily. On Friday, we bought a Domo plush for Billy and introduced it to Dylan, who started nibbling on his head. Billy then tried to wrap a gift for his dad’s birthday, only to be attacked by Dylan standing on the box. Cuteness! Pictures will be posted sometime soon.

At least one of us has their costume ready. I got this at Target, I couldn’t resist it. He’s ready to go, and by Halloween, Dylan’s head should be big enough for it. He is a chicken because he’s so gosh-darn brave! I wish Target had a Domo cat costume! That would have been awesome, especially since they have a TON of Domo Kun products for Halloween (I want the reusable Domo bag, or the fabric bag, and the Domo pinata, but I wouldn’t mind some plush dolls or figurines!). Billy and I are going to be the MythBusters this Halloween! (He’s Jaime, I’m Adam.)

We adopted Dylan when he was two and a half months old. This month, he’ll be four months old. Interesting fact: Dylan’s older than our marriage! But he’s growing up too fast. I want him to slow down. He is the most adorable little baby in the world, but everyday he seems to get a little bit bigger. Dylan is definitely bigger compared to his cutesy stage when we first got him. To remember his ulitmate cuteness, Billy and I watch this clip over and over again, and pretend Dylan’s still a (tiny) kitten (especially since he’s small, orange, has a gold tag, and I have that haircut). Right now, he’s napping, and is still as cute as ever, but he’s going to be a big boy soon!

It has been almost a month since we adopted cutie-patootie Dylan. He is our bayyybeeeee! Right now, he’s sleeping under our coffee table… too adorable. He likes to do that often. Here are a few of his nicknames that we randomly yell out all day.

Kelby (known to us as Dylan) has several brothers that are still available for adoption! I was not able to find his name-twin Dylan on Petfinder, but I was able to find Kizer and Kole on the Cats Are My Love adoptable list. Kole looks the most similar to Kelby/Dylan, who was the fluffiest and most orange kitten in the cage. Oh, he’s the cutest! When Billy and I took Kelby/Dylan back to Petsmart to get his second kitten shot, he got to say hello to two of his brothers that were there that day. We also learned from the little girl volunteer whose home the kittens were from that his brother Dylan was slow at gaining weight, and that Dylan and Kole were named after the Sprouse twins in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Sweet.

The spot the cat licked got worse yesterday and today. I am willingly staying indoors until this disappears. It looks really bad and has started to scab over. Eww! Now my large nose is even MORE noticeable.

Also, the cat attacked me when he was trying to wake me up to play. I now have vampire marks on my shoulder. That hurt. Yikes. Poor Dylan, all he wants is love and to play. And I just want to sleep, lol.

Since I’m home alone with Dylan all day, he has turned into my photo friend. I’ve added more pictures of him to his Flickr set, check it out!
P.S. Happy birthday to Billy!!!!!!!!!!!! He turned the ripe old age of 23 today!

It’s hard when your child starts to hurt you. Now I know what you feel, parents of the world!!!
Dylan, as a cat and our baby, gives us immense joy. However, he shows his love for me in a strange and often painful way: licking my nose. I’ve learned to hold my breath and let him lick away, because making him move does not make it any better. Dylan’s tongue is like VELCRO, though, and it hurts- a lot. And tonight… well, he licked one side of my nose so badly that some pores have started secreting what looks like blood and something clear. Ewwwww. And it does not feel good at all.
The Normal Left Side of My Nose
The Hurting right Side of My Nose
There is a definite redness, and there is definite pain. I’ve looked around online, and kitty may be licking my nose out of affection. If that is true, I need to stop his bad habit soon and get him to love in other ways. Brandi was licked on the nose when she was here, and Billy has a theory that he just likes to lick the noses of girls. Dylan jumps on our bed and licks my nose first thing every morning. He actually knows which part of me is my nose and what isn’t my nose, and he will try his hardest to get to my nose when I hide under covers or under a pillow. Darn that kitten. I love him so much, I cannot say no! But it hurts!! He’s very close to me, and follows me everywhere, but I wish he wasn’t so needy sometimes, lol. Good thing I love kissing and hugging him all day!

Kitten’s been sneezing a bit, but he’s getting better. On Saturday, we’re taking him back to PetSmart to get his last kitten shot and some antibiotics. Apparently his brothers have been sneezing as well. Billy’s pretty concerned, but I’ve been monitoring him, and he’s still active. Dylan lives to die another day! (Or never. He’s going to be with us forever! Billy said this morning that the only other time he’ll cry, besides our wedding, is when Dylan is no longer with us. True that.)
In the almost two weeks we’ve had him, it seems that Dylan’s grown so much, and he’ll soon no longer be a kitten mitten. He’ll always be our kitten, but I wish he could stay small forever! He met Billy’s parents (his grandparents!), Brandi, and Thomas and Crystal since he’s been with us, and has been a joy with all. Dylan’s extremely playful and lick-y. And right now, he’s lying on the sofa next to a pillow. Crazy cat.
